Happy New Year and welcome into 2026. The holidays snagged my time for getting my writing out, but I’ve been busy on the backend with some exciting upcoming investigations. I also spent time creating a home office for myself – also known as not the kitchen table in the middle of the house. I hope to share pictures of what I’ve created once I feel content with everything. A great deal of my effort this past month has gone into finally creating a space that I can call my own and that I can also focus on my work without distractions pulling me away from my goal. The worst distraction I have in my new space is my dog taking stretch-and-roll breaks in the middle of the room, which also reminds me to stand up and stretch. So maybe it’s not that bad of a distraction.
Working on my space also provided me the opportunity to work on my spiritual self. I reconnected with my guides, learned about my guardian angel and team of angels, and put my candle knowledge to work to inspire me. I am also continuing my work with Tarot and Oracle Card readings to continue healing my inner scars and helping build my courage as I go forward into this year. As for this new year, there are some very interesting things at play. My attention was first drawn to the numerology take on 2025 and 2026. 2+2=4, 4+5=9. 9 is an ending number. Things are wrapping up. Things are trying to find closure. And 2026 is 2+2=4, 4+6=10, 1+0=1. One is a perfect beginning. Things are going to start fresh and they’re going to start strong. If you think of the 1st of the month or the first day of the week as the best beginning, this 1 for 2026 is powerful. Then I remembered that 2025 is the year of the snake and I heard often over the last several weeks, that the snake is shedding its skin, which means we are shedding what doesn’t serve us. That doesn’t mean we’re shedding all the bad or shedding things that we don’t like, it literally means shedding the things that the universe has been screaming at you to let go and leave in the past. Not only is the Chinese Zodiac telling you, but also Numerology is urging you to let it go. To end it. I did a few readings this year where the individuals I was reading for were being told to cut ties and end things and shift their thinking. Hopefully those messages came back to them in the new year, because that toxicity needs to be flushed away.
Throughout the month of January (remember the Chinese New Year is in February), the snake will be shedding the last of what it has outgrown, but watching him leave is the Horse at the starting line, ready to burst out the gate and ride with that #1. I read that the horse this year is the Fire Horse. (Ponyta anyone?) What I love, though, is that it reminds me of the elements of fire in my own Zodiac, because this horse is on fire and ready to bring on change. The Fire Horse screams freedom and energy. This year will feel like a push to try to be a little braver and a lot more honest – with yourself for sure, but also, gently, with others. It’s about breaking out of old habits that don’t work anymore and letting some real momentum build. Change is in the air for yourself and the greater world, but it won’t happen by accident. If you want the change, you’ll need to stay focused, be intentional, and lean on the right people when you need support.
This is also a good time for Shadow Work. Looking deeper into what makes up who you are and finding the things you can let go and the things you’ve hid away that need to finally shine. It is about finding the authentic you so that you can be the best that you can be.
